Official Language

The implementation of the provisions contained in the Rules 1976 of the Official Language Act 1963, and the review of the progressive use of Hindi in all the Departments of Corporate Office and Complex Offices situated at Bangalore, Kolar Gold Fields and Mysore are being done by the Hindi Cell. This includes quarterly and annual progress reports of Corporate Office, organizing regular meetings of the Official Language Implementation Committee of Corporate Office in every quarter, setting up of Official Language Implementation Committee and appropriate implementation of the Official Language.

Official Language Implementation Committee

An Official Language Implementation Committee is functioning at Corporate Office under the Chairmanship of the Director (HR). The Committee undertakes quarterly reviews of the progress made in the use of Hindi in official work within the Corporate Office and its complex offices. It also reviews the compliance of the statutory requirements of the Official Language Act, 1963, and the Official Language Rules, 1976, and also the achievement of the targets laid down in Annual Programme and other instructions issued by the Department of Official Language from time to time. The Committee has been rendering useful service in suggesting measures for achieving the targets laid down in the Annual Programme of the Department of Official Language.

Training in Hindi Language / Hindi Typing / Shorthand

Information regarding facilities provided under the Hindi Teaching Scheme of the Department of Official language, Ministry of Home Affairs has been provided to Officers and staff of the company in all spheres. Consequently, non-Hindi speaking personnel, on passing various Hindi Examinations have got the benefit of these schemes.

Hindi Workshop

To inculcate interest and efficiency among the staff, Hindi workshops are being organized at Corporate Office and its complex offices. The Officials have imparted training in Hindi noting and drafting in these workshops.

Hindi Day Celebrations

Hindi Day celebrations take place in Corporate Office and all its complexes during the month of September every year. During this period, officers and employees are motivated to do their maximum work in Hindi and competitions like Hindi Antakshari, Hindi Quiz and Hindi Essay Writing competitions will be organized. Instructions will be issued to all Regional / District offices to take the pledge on Hindi Day i.e., on 14th September in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Defence and Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs.
